Baltimore Yo Yo's

Well it took a lot longer to finish than I planned... But it is done! This quilt took on a life of its own. If you saw the initial sketches, you would barely recognize it. But sometimes you just gotta let things take their own course.

This quilt was designed to teach as a class. I think it should be quite fun. In my usual fashion, I love to show a technique in hopes that it will spark one's imagination - then watch the creativity flow!

I wanted to do a fresh take on the Baltimore Album Quilt. I used scrumptious Cherrywood Fabric http://www.cherrywoodfabrics.com, richly colored Batiks and lots of yo yo's. The birds were chosen because they are the ones I see in my canyon, but could easily be changed or even left out!!.

I will be teaching the class at Thimble Creek Quilt Shop http://thimblecreek.com/ in July. My all time favorite quilt shop. Check out their class schedule for my class and many other great classes, including a fun one with my friend Kristen Jenny http://quiltilicious.blogspot.com/ .
